Tunicia Phillips

Biography

Tunicia Phillips is a professional writer and poet who describes herself as a humanitarian, cleverly disguised as a journalist. She has worked in news for six years- having begun her career as a community journalist in her hometown of Johannesburg. She has been awarded the South African 2017 Field Reporter of the Year Award at the Liberty Radio Awards on April 22, 2017. She is currently the Breakfast news anchor on KayaFM 95.9, and when she is not on air she prides herself as a well - groomed science journalist with a knack for environmental journalism and a passion for conservation, water, energy, mining and climate change. She has also emmersed herself in the scientific divide on RF safety/ wireless communication and health/ environement risks for over five years.He research has been supported by the Forum for African Investigative Reporters [FAIR]
