World Energy Council releases 2012 report

Doha, Qatar: The World Energy Council launched the 2012 World Energy Trilemma report during the UN climate talks at COP18, which are being held in Doha till December 7. The study ranks the 93 World Energy Council member countries on their performance in energy and climate policies, and details recommendations for policymakers in order to provide clean, affordable, and secure energy. The top three Arab countries on the Energy sustainability Index were Qatar in the 41st place, UAE in the 44th and Saudi Arabia in the 46th. The index is based on each countries scores in the three criterias, Energy Efficiency, Enviromental Impact Mitigation and Social Equity — the Energy “Trilemma”.
