The World Federation of Science Journalists has produced the “world’s first online course in science journalism”. It has modules in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish. Although it is a general science journalism course, much of it is relevant to reporting on environmental health and climate change. The eight lessons are: 1- Planning and structuring your work; 2 – Finding and judging science stories; 3 – The interview; 4 – Writing skills; 5 – What is Science?; 6 – Reporting scientific controversy; 7 – Reporting on Science policy; 8 – How to shoot science. Each lesson has an e-lecture, some self-teaching questions and some assignments. For more information see the WFSJ website.
