Former BBC environment correspondent, now retired and joint founder and editor of the Climate News Network (https://climatenewsnetwork.net/), publishing a free daily story under a Creative Commons licence on the climate and extinction crisis. We also mentor and train journalists and others. I became a journalist because it is one of the best ways to build a better world. I hope to help it to avoid climate catastrophe and to learn that we and all species are one inter-dependent web of life. In 2017 I was named environment journalist of the year at the UK Regional Press Awards.
