Abdallah Bakari Nassoro is a senior print investigative journalist working for The Guardian local broadsheet, based in the Mtwara region, in southern Tanzania. His investigative work is focused on environment and health and he has over 17 years' experience working in different local newspapers including Majira, Mwananchi, The Citizen, The African and Mtanzania newspapers. 

He gained a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from The Open University of Tanzania in 2019, and is fluent in Swahili and moderate in English. In his lifetime working as journalist, he has participated in five international and three local media fellowships, which improved his journalistic work and career development. He has also successfully been granted six international and local outstanding performance media awards and mentions, which demonstrate his commitment to his work (the Journalism Award in Couples HIV Counseling and Testing Media Writing Competition by the Association of Journalists Against Aids in Tanzania (AJAAT) in 2011; Excellence in Work Performance (Communication Officer) by Researchers, Academicians and Allied Workers Union (RAAWU) in 2015; International Journalism Awards in Children Innovative Great Idea by Media Monitoring Africa in 2016; Journalism Award towards Advocating for Sustainable Development Goal 5 of Agenda 2030 issued by United Nations in Collaboration with Gender Links and UN Women in 2018; a mention in the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania 2011 in the Photojournalism Category by Media Council of Tanzania (MCT); a mention in the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania 2011 of the Print Media in the HIV/Aids Category by Media Council of Tanzania.)
