Afifa Nasar Ullah, an esteemed freelance environmental journalist base in Lahore and affiliated with Deutsche Welle, possesses a remarkable decade-long career in the field. Having worked with various national and international institutions, Afifa found her true calling in climate journalism. Starting out with 24 News, her work delved deep into the intricate dynamics of climate change. With precision, Afifa's reports dissected the root causes, including greenhouse gases, carbon emissions, deforestation, and biodiversity loss, while also proposing potential solutions. Her contributions extended to BBC World Service Urdu Language, where she explored critical environmental topics such as climate science, weather patterns, and rising temperatures. Her narratives not only led to policy reforms but also sparked societal awareness, inspiring climate organizations and advocates to launch impactful campaigns.

In 2020, her freelance work with DW Deutsche Welle became a platform for refined climate reporting. Embracing a multidimensional perspective, Afifa encouraged discourse on global climate challenges. Her travels took her worldwide, unearthing poignant stories related to climate change and environmental issues. Notably, she highlighted innovative solutions for climate change, energy crises, and carbon emissions. Afifa's investigative focus expanded to crucial areas like mitigation strategies, climate justice, and policy impacts. Through digital mediums, she emphasizes urgency, shedding light on challenges faced by women, especially in flood-affected regions. Internationally recognized, Afifa had been a part of “Climate Justice in Asia Pacific" training delivered by APWLD in Thailand and has taken part in workshops such as CEJ Pakistan’s "Green Journalism". She won the "Best Journalist 2021- 2022 Awards" by CEJ and US Consulate Karachi, and the "Agahe Award" for her focused work in environment journalism. She was awarded a media fellowship in 2022-2023 by APWLD Migration Department.
