Aimable Twahirwa is a science journalist and for nearly two decades has been covering environmental topics. As an active member of several World Federation of Science Journalists programs, he has worked as a correspondent, journalist and permanent environmental reporter for various international news organizations and agencies, including Inter Press Service (IPS), Thomson Reuters Foundation, and SciDev.Net.
Since 2014, he has worked as a trainer and mentor for journalists for the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), coordinating several training workshops for African journalists to write feature articles on the environment and climate change.
He has also worked as a consultant on behalf of the African Adaptation Program (AAP) under the coordination of the United Nations, to encourage journalists from 12 Central African countries to cover topics focusing on climate change adaptation efforts in national and sub-regional strategies.
He has worked on various specialized journalism initiatives with different organizations including the International Women Media Foundation (IWMF) and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) based in Washington DC.
