Aishath Shaany has over eight years of experience as a journalist in the Maldives. Working at RaajjeTV - a news station dedicated to current affairs during this period, she has covered numerous events including presidential elections, parliamentary elections, court rulings, entertainment and light stories…and everything in between. She has also interviewed various international figures and diplomats, most notably the former U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

Environment journalism is new to Shani, but is something she wishes to further educate herself in…something which she finds important given her country’s vulnerability to climate change.
