Akash Gulankar is a journalist based in Pune. He has experience of working in both print and digital spaces. He began his career with print journalism while covering civic issues and crime with Pune Mirror in 2018. 

He furthered his journey with News18 in Delhi to become a Data Journalist in 2019. Since then he is pursuing data journalism. He has worked with various media outlets including national newsrooms like News18.com, The Federal and News9. 

Meanwhile, his camaraderie with Environment Journalism began back in 2019 when he first covered the severe drought in Maharashtra. Later he pursued many environment related stories and became one of the fellows with Earth Journalism Network in 2021.
