Alfonso Tomas “Atom” Araullo is a journalist, TV anchor, and documentarist. Based in Manila, Philippines, he is regular contributor to GMA News, but also does freelance work for regional and international media organizations. His work revolves around disaster reporting, climate change, conflict, and human rights. In 2017, he co-founded FYT, an independent platform that promotes development journalism and community media. Before that, Araullo worked in ABS-CBN News, where he was a reporter for a decade. In 2015, he joined a fellowship program of the Earth Journalism Network to cover the 21st Conference of Parties in Paris, France. He has since produced several award-winning documentaries about climate change and ecological degradation. Araullo earned a degree in Applied Physics at the University of the Philippines.
