Biography

Anastasiia Zagoruichyk is a freelance journalist based in Kyiv, Ukraine, covering issues related to climate change, industrial air pollution and energy. Another area of her work is analysis of the economic component of decarbonization and its potential impact on Ukraine (CBAM, ETS, BAT, environmental taxes).

Her recent works were published in Dzerkalo Tyzhnia and Ekonomichna Pravda, authoritative Ukrainian media. Her article for Dzerkalo Tyzhnia considers whether the nationally determined contribution of Ukraine in the field of energy and industry, which will be presented at COP26, is ambitious enough. Energy is responsible for 66% of Ukraine's CO2 emissions.

Her interview with the Minister of Environmental Protection, which she worked on together with Ekonomichna Pravda, touches on a number of important environmental issues for Ukraine: climate change, industrial pollution, financing of environmental projects, legislation, transformation of coal regions.

In parallel with this, she works with environmental NGOs as a Communication Manager.
