Anup Dutta has five years of experience as a climate and environmental journalist based in India. His area of work touches on climate induced changes leading to slavery, human trafficking and impacts on children. He displays righteous anger and courage to capture widespread fury while capturing LGBTQ community. Some of his works appeared in English or in Hindi publications like - Al Jazeera, Mongabay, CNN, BBC, The Diplomat, The Hindu, The Wire, The Tribune, Down to Earth etcetera. His story on India's Assam on the victims of climate change falling in trap of slavery and human trafficking was shortlisted for the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Stop Slavery Award 2022.
An alumnus of Thomson Reuters Foundation Human Trafficking and Slavery and LGBT+ Rights reporting, Anup is also a trainer and communication consultant to social media and development sector organizations. Some of his research-based works on the indigenous games and objects of the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are on display at the State Tribal Museum, Shyamla Hills, Bhopal. He is a former national basketball player, he is a former recipient of sports scholarship from NIS, Patiala, India.
