Peruvian journalist Aramís Castro specializes in the coverage of environmental issues, extractive industries, and social conflicts. He has knowledge in journalistic research methodologies focused on the analysis and cross-referencing of databases. Rainforest Investigations Network Fellow '23 from Pulitzer Center and Journalismfund '24 Fellow. Since 2018 Castro has worked in investigative media at OjoPúblico, and he was previously at Convoca.pe and Corresponsales.pe. He has participated in global investigative projects such as the Swiss Leaks, Panama Papers, and cross-border work linked to organized crime in the Amazon, oil palm, coal, and cocoa supply chains; mercury trafficking, timber trafficking, and others. Castro also gives workshops on data journalism in Peruvian and foreign universities. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal (Lima). In 2024, he was awarded a CCMP Fellowship from the Earth Journalism Network to cover COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
