Biography

Aswathy is a journalist based in Kerala, a southern state in India. She has covered stories on health, environment, climate change, culture and women empowerment for Deshabhimani Daily where she is working as reporter. She joined the national daily Deccan Chronicle as an intern in 2018, and then joined Deshabhimani Daily as a full time journalist by the end of 2018. Her reporting experience largely lies within the Covid pandemic - for one and half years she has been reporting mainly about the zoonotic diseases Covid and Nipah. Aswathy has her Bachelors in English Language And Literature from Mahatma Gandhi University and PG Diploma in Journalism and Communications from Kerala Media Academy, an autonomous institution under government of Kerala. Currently she is pursuing her Master's in History from Indira Gandhi National Open University under the Government of India.
