Duda Menegassi is an environmental journalist based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Duda has specialized in covering biodiversity, protected areas and science reporting. She works for ((o))eco, an independent online outlet focused on covering the environment, and the biggest authority in environmental news in Brazil. Some of her stories have been republished in Mongabay US and in Headline. In 2018, she published a book about walking trails in 11 protected areas in Brazil. Duda is also the screenwriter and researcher of the webseries "Pé no Parque", which focuses on protected areas in Brazil; and of the webseries "Guanabara: a bay that resists", which highlights the nature-based solutions taking place in Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro.
She was one of the editors of a guide created to help communicators covering issues related to biodiversity in the Brazilian biomes, published by ((o))eco in 2022.
Duda is also one of the presenters of the podcast "Animals, plants and stories you haven't been told", released in 2023 and available on all platforms.
She has taken part both as a mediator and a panelist in several events related to science reporting and communicating environmental themes, and is a prominent young voice on conservation and biodiversity.
