Biography

Mahima Jain is an independent journalist and editor reporting at the intersection of gender, environment, culture and socio-economic issues. She is passionate about writing deeply-researched narrative pieces that shine a spotlight on the lives of those at the margins and on systemic issues. She has bylines in Indian and global publications including The Guardian, BBC, Earth Island Journal, Der Spiegel, DW, Mongabay and several others. She has also produced short documentaries for The Hindu Group and podcasts for Suno India. Mahima is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka and Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, and reports from across India. She also has reported from Croatia, Slovenia, the UK, France, Germany, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, among other countries. In India, she previously held editorial positions at The Hindu Group and the Indian Institute for Human Settlements.
