Biography

Monika Mondal is an independent journalist, based in India. Her areas of interest are agriculture, sustainability and the environment. Her work has appeared in Mongabay, Undark, the Caravan, SCMP, Washington Post, The third pole, The Diplomat, among other national and international publications. Her story : "Investigation : Hidden water crisis behind India's sugar dominance" won her 2021 Thomson Foundation Young Journalist (Environment) award.
