Patricia Figueiredo is a Brazilian journalist based in São Paulo. She graduated from University of Sao Paulo (USP) with a semester abroad at Université Lumière Lyon 2. She currently works at G1, one of Brazil's largest news websites, focusing on investigative or data based stories about nature, science, health and cities. At G1, she covered the fires raging in Amazon and the oil spills in Northeast Brazil. Previously, she has worked as a digital reporter for Agência Pública, an award-winning investigative journalism outlet, covering local and national elections for the fact-checking unit. As a freelancer, she collaborated with popular Brazilian publications such as Folha de S. Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, UOL, L’Officiel and Veja. In 2017 she was awarded the São Paulo Gastronomy Trophy for her academic work and attended the 10th Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Johannesburg as a fellow.
