Biography

Pia Ranada is a journalist based in Manila, Philippines. She is a senior reporter for news website Rappler, covering politics and the environment. In 2021, she was named as a panelist at the prestigious Jaime V. Ongpin Journalism Seminar, which recognizes outstanding reporting by Filipino journalists. She has been recognized for her journalism, having been named Best Female News Writer in the 2021 Paragala Awards, Top News Personality in the 8th Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards, and shortlisted for The Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service in 2019. She'd been recognized for her environmental news coverage, winning Best Online Commentary/Report at the 2015 Sarihay Media Awards and named Merit Winner, Young Asian Environmental Journalist of the Year at the 2014 Asian Environmental Journalism Awards.
