Sahar is based in Yemen and has a degree in science. She started writing with a special focus on the environment in 2018 and published with local and regional online platforms. Sahar was selected for the MENA environmental journalism fellowship with Climate Tracker in 2019. Sahar's media piece on women and water won the MENA Blue Peace Open Eye Award from KAS & Cewas organizations in 2020. Sahar was a research fellow with Al Jazeera Media Institute in 2023. Her collaborative story which covers malnutrition issues in Yemen and Nigeria was awarded the Hostwriter Prize for 2023. In 2023, Sahar was selected by the Earth Journalism Network to participate in the Climate Change Media Partnership fellowship to report from COP28 in Dubai.
