Yukfu Sylvie Bantar, is a journalist with Cameroon Radio Television at the North West Regional Station in Bamenda Cameroon. She has 10 years of working experience as a reporter.
As a reporter, she is instrumental in news gathering, treatment and dissemination for radio and TV newscasts. She also produces slots for TV programmes and documentaries. She is presenter of major flagship programmes at her radio station including the “The Wake Up Crew” and “The Life Line" a health programme with focus on health issues and the environment.
As concerns the environment, Yukfu is intentional about addressing most environmental problems in her community especially deforestation, climate change, desertification, Agriculture, Energy, pollution, Water crisis and environmental health.
Yukfu, has produced more than 50 radio programmes on the Environment to include: Disaster risk reduction, Preservation of wetlands , Importance of forests, Biodiversity conservation, Harnessing solar energy potentials in the North West of Cameroon, Biogas production, Waste management, Urban gardening, organic farming, just to name a few.
Her assertiveness and leadership skills have earned her multiple opportunities to serve as Editor In Chief on interim bases.
Yukfu Sylvie a 2021 fellow for International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) for Global Health Reporting Initiative for Vaccines and Immunization in Africa. She is also member of Africa Vaccine Manufacturing Initiative and Central Africa Non Executive Director at Africa Corporate Governance Institute. As a Public Relations Expert, she works for Cameroon Renewable Energy, a Solar energy company based in Bamenda, Cameroon. She is also a Communication Consultant for Environment and Rural Development Foundation and other civil society organizations in Cameroon. She holds a Master of science in Corporate Communication and a Bsc.(Hons) in Journalism and Mass Communication all from the University of Buea, Cameroon.
