Van Nguyen is a senior journalist at Viet Nam News, the national English language daily published seven days a week. Established in 1991, the paper has provided comprehensive coverage of the latest domestic and international developments in Vietnam and abroad.
Van joined Viet Nam News as an intern in 2015 and became a full-time journalist at the paper in 2016. She has been writing feature stories about social affairs, environmental issues, sustainable development, and the COVID-19 pandemic. During her time with the newspaper, she has covered trade and tourism events in South Korea and China, as well as traveling extensively around Vietnam to report the news.
In 2018, Van joined the newly created multimedia department and quickly established herself within the team, shooting and editing video packages. Her work is a combination of real issues, fun features, lifestyle video,s and hard news reflecting all aspects of local life in Vietnam.
Van earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Studies at Hanoi University in 2015, a diploma in multimedia reporting in 2016 and a certificate on reporting on climate change and energy transition by Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2021.
