Biography

Yasmin Arquiza has worked as an international news reporter for Agence France-Presse and the Associated Press, community journalist for Bandillo ng Palawan, and managing editor for GMA News Online in the Philippines. She divides her time between Manila and Davao City. As an environmental journalist, she has covered the UN climate summit and several conferences on coral reef conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable development. As a fellow of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, she has written several stories that have won local and international awards. In recent years, she has helped produce podcasts and short films on coastal fisheries and climate resilience. She has also started writing multimedia stories using web-based tools, including two recent articles on the role of women in small-scale fisheries and setting up networks of marine reserves.
