Reporting on Heavy Metal Contamination with a One Health Lens: Key Lessons for Asia-Pacific Journalists

banner image

One Health is a global framework that recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. This approach prioritizes coordination, collaboration, and communication across disciplines to address shared threats such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety and environmental contamination.

In the lead-up to One Health Day on November 3, 2022, Internews’ Earth Journalism Network’s Asia-Pacific project is organizing a series of events for journalists to delve into these under-reported issues and explore how the concept of One Health can better inform their reporting.

In this introductory webinar, journalists can hear from experts about the causes of heavy metal pollution (mercury, lead, arsenic, etc.), its impacts on humans and the environment and the latest efforts to combat their impact on human, animal, and environmental health.
