20 countries agree to abandon coal by 2030

Emissions of greenhouse gases rising for the first time in 3 years have created an extra urgency for the implementation of the Paris climate agreement. Even then, the targets that were set in Paris two years ago, will still not be enough to achieve the 1.5 degree cap on increases in global temperatures which will reduce the effects of climate change globally. While most world leaders gathered in Bonn, Germany realize the challenge, tangible plans on how to solve the crisis remain elusive at the talks.
