Coastal Frontiers along the Bay of Bengal

Based on interviews from communities living near the Pichavaram Mangrove Forest in Tamil Nadu, India, sediment erosion, inundation stress and increased salinity in the land area has put the area under the threat. The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), a community-based non-profit organization, is focusing on rehabilitation of the mangroves and helping the community to be more resilient. Will threats from climate change, climate justice and resilience in the Bay of Bengal region be resolved? Monika Gulati reports.
