COP29: A Week Without Consensus on How to Distribute Climate Finance
A week into the climate summit, there is still no consensus on the amount and details of the new method of distribution of funding to mitigate the effects of global warming. It was only last Friday, after 7 p.m. (local time), that a preliminary document was made public for the final debate next week. In addition, the return of Donald Trump, elected president of the United States, generated reactions and uncertainty at the beginning of COP29 about the role of one of the main greenhouse gas emitting countries.
