Financing climate change

Erik Solheim, the executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme, has urged all governments to give subsidies to clean energy solutions, and avoid allowing the installation of fossil fuel plants such as coal. The director is in Bonn, Germany, for the climate change talks, and sat down with journalists to explain how developing countries like Kenya, can avoid the path of pollution and high carbon emissions, without depending on foreign assistance.
