GHANA: World Oceans Day: Responsible fisheries - Beat Plastic Pollution

80 million tonnes of plastic per year ends up in the ocean. Kingsley Buadu reports on their activities with fishermen in Ghana who voice their concerns on the environmental impacts on the fish which impacts the fishing communities. Traditional illegal fishing practices like DDT & Light-fishing is looked at as well as plastic pollution which is impacting their livelihoods. 

Discuss potential solutions to the problem - pick up bags and factories to reuse & recycle the plastic (as only one in Ghana). Supervisory role to be played by the government.
