Small Island Developing States had access to only USD $1.5 billion or around 2 billion FJD in climate finance out of the 100 billion in 2019. 

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change or UNFCCC estimates that nearly $6 trillion is needed for developing countries’ climate action plans by 2030. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad highlighted this at a side event on Nature-based Financing for Climate Resilience: Leveraging Natural Solutions for Sustainable Development at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
