The Surui: Getting Paid to Protect Forests
Bobby Bascomb | 17 September 2012The Surui, an indigenous tribe in the Brazilian Amazon, is working with Google Earth to make detailed maps of their forest. The tribe wants to know how many trees they have and how much they grow from year to year so they can get compensated for carbon sequestration on the voluntary carbon market.
