Urban heat island effect brings record temperatures to Hanoi

Vietnam’s capital Hanoi is experiencing extremely high temperatures this summer, much like other major metropolises. Is the heat just tied to climate change and global warming? What other factors might be influencing what’s known as the urban heat island effect?
