Biography

Daniela Quintero Díaz is a journalist and sociologist based in Bogotá, Colombia, with more than five years of experience as an environmental and investigative journalist. She specializes in environmental reporting, climate change, energy transition, and oceans at El Espectador, Colombia’s oldest newspaper, and one of the largest too. Currently, she is a member of the Investigative Unit, where she develops in-depth investigations.

Daniela received a reporting grant from the Earth Journalism Network's UN Oceans Project in 2021, to report on the million-dollar business of eel fishing in The Caribbean, and in 2022, to report on coastal erosion in Colombia. In 2023 she was awarded a CCMP Fellowship to attend and report from COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
