Biography

Robert is a journalist with over eight years of experience writing and editing in mainstream media journalism, strategic communications and public policy.

He is a storyteller with a passion for effecting social change to empower individuals and communities to make right governance decisions. He has written multiple stories on environment and climate change which have been instrumental in sensitizing the readers on the need for climate action.

As reporter of The Standard newspaper he gained a fine grasp on reporting on environment, social issues and insights on shaping public perception, bringing complex subjects to life and communicating for impact. He particularly wrote an environmental story in Kakamega county which has caused the county to move a dumpsite that was built right in the middle of a residential area. He has attended training on effective storytelling and data journalism by Deutsche Welle (DW), Voice of America (VoA) and InfoNile.

Robert consults for private and public institutions on how to develop communication plans and engage journalists. He has mentored interns and journalism students to become reputable scribes.

He is pursuing a master’s degree in communication science at Masinde Muliro University and aims to become a communications lecturer in future.
