Ana Cristina Alvarado is an independent journalist based in Quito, Ecuador. She worked at Diario El Comercio from 2014 to 2021. Over there, she wrote articles about culture, lifestyle, food, fashion, health, and other topics related to everyday life. In 2020, she started to write articles and features stories about sustainability and indigenous peoples for Ecuadorian digital magazine La Barra Espaciadora and international online media sites, like Mongabay Latam. She is also part of Al Oído Podcast, a narrative journalism project launched by La Barra Espaciadora.
