The Third Pole
Launched in 2007 as a partnership of Internews’ Earth Journalism Network and China Dialogue, the Third Pole focused on climate and ecological issues in the Himalayas. It helped promote regional cooperation by building the resources and reporting capacity of local media and through the publication of balanced, unbiased, rigorously researched news and feature stories.
The Third Pole network comprises journalists, policymakers, non-governmental organizations and experts. It has developed a particular focus on water resources and management in South Asia.
The Third Pole, now amalgamated with Dialogue Earth, has become a primary news site for environmental issues in the region and has established itself as source of news for several outlets in South Asia, which re-publish its content regularly, and beyond.
